Summer Catchup

It’s been almost three months since I’ve put fingers to the keyboard on this blog.

In that time I’ve been to Yosemite, taken the LSAT, taught SAT summer school sessions, (re)discovered drawing, written a couple of short stories, read more than 40 graphic novels, started work on my own comic, busted my bar trivia slump, appeared on TV, gone through background checks with the city of Los Angeles, and been hired as an Animal Control Officer Trainee.

Just to name a few things.

Of the things that I’ve done, perhaps the most rewarding to me has been the drawing. I’ve not drawn very much over the past few years. I never counted myself as much of an artist to be honest. However, I’ve somehow become less hard on myself, and I’ve begun to enjoy both the process and the end results.

I just need to find a way to be less hard on myself when it comes to prose that I’ve written.

In writing news, my plan is to start work on my desert fantasy novel on August 1. I’m finishing up my comic as part of Camp Nanowrimo, and I will get started on the novel after that. I’ve been waiting for a few months to get started, and now I am ready!

My goal for the summer is to get back to regular blog posting.

For now, this will have to do.
